Searching for individual journal titles
UIC Library subscribes to thousands of academic journals, magazines, and other publications. Individual journal titles can be searched through the Journal Search on the UIC Library website.
BrowZine
BrowZine helps researchers access full text articles, manage a digital bookshelf of journals, send citations to citation managers, and access resources across various platforms.
How do I create an account?
Creating a BrowZine personal account is free, and the best way to do so is by clicking the BrowZine link on the UIC Library homepage. You will need to provide an email and a password for account creation. Creating an account through this link ensures that access is being provided by the UIC library. Check for the Access Provided by University of Illinois Chicago Library text on the top right of your screen after account creation.
How do I search for journals?
There are a few different ways you can search for journals on BrowZine. If you have the title, subject, or the ISSN of the journal handy, you can search for that journal through the search bar on the left side of the homepage. There is also the option to browse by subject. After clicking a subject, it will display all available journals on that subject in A-Z format. Journals can also be sorted by Journal Rank. After clicking a subject, you can then browse subcategories of that subject if you need to narrow down your search further.
After finding a journal on BrowZine, you can browse through its released years of publication, volume number, and issue number through drop-down links in a column on the left side of the page. Articles can be saved to your BrowZine account.
How do I use the bookshelf feature on BrowZine?
After adding journals to your bookshelf, they can then be sorted into “Bookcases” and then into “Shelves” within those bookcases. These bookcases and shelves can all be renamed if needed. This notification is indicated by a red notification (circled below) on the journal with a number indicating the number of new issues that have been released since it was last accessed.
How do I manage articles on BrowZine?
When you find an article that you want to save, saving it is as simple as clicking the Save to My Articles shortcut underneath the article. Through BrowZine, you can also choose to view the PDF of an article, copy its hyperlink, export it to citation managers like RefWorks, EndNote, and Zotero, or share the article through email or through various social media platforms. After saving an article, it can then be accessed through the My Articles tab in BrowZine.
How can I access BrowZine on my mobile device?
BrowZine can be accessed on both a computer as well as a mobile device. A mobile app is available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. More information about downloading the app can be found on the UIC Mobile Medicine LibGuide.
