Question

I am a student. How can I access course reserves at Daley Library?

Answer

You can find course reserves with UIC Library Search.

  1. Physical reserves are loaned on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Richard J. Daley Library.
  2. Items can be searched in Primo using the “Course Reserves” option from the drop down menu. Users can search for materials by course number, professor’s name, or book title.
  3. All items on reserve at Daley are housed behind the circulation desk, please ask staff for items by call number.
  4. Reserve media (books, CDs, DVDs, instructor personal copies) are limited loans anywhere from 2 hours to one week. Make sure to verify the time or date due when you check out an item.
  5. Reserve items may be taken out of the library for use.
  6. Please return borrowed reserve media directly to the Circulation Desk to avoid late charges.
  7. Course Reserve items cannot be placed on hold and cannot be renewed.
  8. Direct questions about Course Reserves at Daley to lib-res@uic.edu

Note: Most publishers do not license e-textbooks to academic libraries. Textbooks are also available for rent inside Blackboard course pages or by visiting the UIC Redshelf service.
